Policies and Legal Documents
Before the party gets started, it’s important that all clients review DJ Z-Witty’s policies. The most important policies are explained here to give a clear overview of expectations and ensure a smooth, stress-free experience. A full and detailed list of all policies is included in the contract. These policies are in place not only to protect DJ Z-Witty, but also to protect the client by preventing misunderstandings, last-minute issues, and unexpected disruptions—so the focus stays where it belongs: on great music and an unforgettable event.
Contract & Deposit Policy
All clients booking with DJ Z-Witty are required to sign a contract. A non-refundable 50% deposit is due at the time of booking to secure your event date. No date is considered officially booked until both the signed contract and deposit are received. This agreement locks in the date for both the client and DJ Z-Witty, ensuring neither party cancels once the booking is confirmed.
If the client cancels the event for any reason, the deposit is automatically forfeited to DJ Z-Witty. Cancellations result in lost income, as the reserved date can no longer be offered to other clients; the deposit serves as compensation for this loss. If
DJ Z-Witty must cancel, the client will receive a full refund of the deposit.
Rescheduling and cancellation policy
No rescheduling can be done after this document is signed unless in the case of weather (see “Weather Policy). Any rescheduling or Cancelation of the event will result in the buyer forfeiting the deposit to the service provider. (If the service provider needs to cancel at any time, the deposit will be returned to the buyer)
Weather Policy
For outdoor events that have the potential of being rained out, there is one reschedule allowed at the discretion of the service provider. If no date can be agreed upon between the service provider and buyer, or the rescheduled date gets rained out the service provider may keep the deposit at their discretion.
Payment
Policy
Payment must be written as a check, given physically in cash, or online using Zelle or Apple Pay. Payment is expected to be given to the service provider right when they show up. 50% of full payment is required the day this document is signed as a deposit.
Gear
Damage
If any of the service provider’s gear is damaged by a guest of the buyer or buyer, they may be held financially responsible for it.
Travel
Policy
DJ Z-Witty is located in Naperville IL, 60564. Any bookings that are over two hours round trip (or an hour away) during regular traffic will have an additional fee of $50 and then a fee of $20 per hour travel after that.
Liability Insurance
We understand that insurance may be required at specific events. Most venues have their own liability or homeowners insurance in which events are covered. If an event requires insurance we are covered under NEXT same day insurance and we pay on an event by event basis. A fee of $65 will be added if insurance is booked and proof of insurance will be sent ASAP after payment is received.
Child
Policy
We ask that no one under the age of 18 books our services. If you are under the age of 18 please have a parent or guardian reach out to us. Z-Witty is a family friendly DJ and all ages are welcome at any events. That being said, any children under 8 years of age must be under parental supervision. No one under the age of 18 is permitted behind the DJ or lighting booth due to safety. We accept no liability if a child or anyone at an event is hurt due to not being supervised.
Harassment
Policy
DJ Z-Witty is devoted to the protection of both himself along with any contractors or guests that he brings with to an event. Please note that if DJ Z-Witty or a contractor is being harassed regardless of if it is song requests, comments about appearance, etc. We will leave at the expense of the client. If there is going to be drinking at an event please allocate someone to keep drunk people away from the booth or tell us to bring someone along and we happily will.
